Creating a Community Web PortalRichmond Free Library (RFL) for 4/28/2010, 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM The Richmond Area Business Association (RABA) has partnered with the Richmond Economic Development Committee (REDC) and several local businesses to develop a welcoming and user-friendly regional website. Designed to be a helpful resource for residents, area businesses and visitors, this community portal will showcase all the ways in which the towns of Bolton, Huntington and Richmond are a great place to live, work and explore. Residents will have an opportunity to learn about regional events and connect with their neighbors on the issues that affect them. The portal will feature a calendar of events, news and information, community surveys and bulletin board, local coupons and searchable business directory, and much more. Have an idea to improve the community? Share it here. Got a favorite event or non-profit you'd like to support? Donate securely through the portal. Businesses can keep local customers informed on everything from new products to seasonal sales. With several ways to advertise, this will quickly become a valuable resource for your small business. The site will also feature business-to-business resources for you to communicate and collaborate with other RABA and REDC members. Looking to hire? Post on the portal. Sponsoring a community event? Let your customers know. Visitors know that Vermont is a great place to visit, but do they know that our area boasts the only night skiing in the state, a James Beard-nominated restaurant, or one of the most recognized historic icons in the state? It's time to put Bolton, Huntington and Richmond on the map as a premier destination for recreation, weddings, arts and rural culture. The portal will feature lodging, dining and shopping information, images, suggested itineraries and vacation packages targeting travelers. Join us for a community meeting April 28, 2010, 7pm to discuss the new web portal. Learn how this new resource can help connect our communities and enhance the local economy. |
